Instructional Technology

Instructional Technology is for teaching (semua yang dapat membantu mengembangkan aspek-aspek dalam pembelajaran) bukan semata-mata seperti: TV, Computer, Projector dll.
Personal definition of Instructional Technology is systematic process used to design manage and evaluate various ways of presenting various subject matter in order to enhance teaching and learning. It is the process of creating a learning style by using technology resources. It is the process of using technological tools to meet learning objectives.
Tujuan :

  • Untuk meningkatkan proses belajar mengajar yang diproses cara-cara untuk menyampaikan subjek.
  • Harus paham tentang apa belajar dan mengajar.
Learning is the development of new knowledge, skills, or attitudes as an individual interacts with information and the environment. The learning environment includes the physical facilities, the physical facilities, the psychological atmosphere, instructional technology, media and methods.

  • Ada materi yang disampaikan (Information)
  • Metode alat yang digunakan ( Environmet)
  • Manajemen kelas
  • Cara yang digunakan dan media yang digunakan 3 ranah dalam pembelajaran Cognitive/knowledge, skill; attitude.
Proses mendasar dalam IT: Design, Manage and Evaluate. Instruction is the arrangement of information and the environment to facilitate learning. Gagne described instruction as a set of events external to the learner designed to support the internal process of learning (Gagne, 1985).

The five domains of Instructional Technology
Theory practice:

§  Design
§  Evaluation
§  Utilization
§  Management

Description for each domain

  • Design refers to the process of specifying conditions for learning.
  • Development refers to the process of translating the design specification into physical form (kongkrit).
  • Utilization (pemanfaatan) refers to the use of processes and resources for learning (digunakan).
  • Management refers to processes for controlling IT.
  • Evaluation is the process for determining the adequate of instruction.

The Proper Way to Become An Instructional Technologist

Here are list of things one needs to do to become and remain an instructional technologists.
  • Work with people and take a genuine interest and their interest and listen.
  • Study the design process, study how people learn individually and collectively, and study media’s role in learning.
  • Strive to understand the interdependency of theory, research, and practice.
  • Learn, the “how’s and what’s” of media.
  • Play, peran menjadi aktor.

Media
A medium (plural, media) is a means of communication and source of information. Derived from the latin word meaning “between” the term refers to anything that carries information between a source and receiver e.g include video, TV, diagram, printed material etc.

Fundamental Componets of Instructional Design

These components are interrelated and could conceivably make up entire instructional design plan.
